Star Gas Partners Announces Pricing of 1.7 Million Common Units at $21.35 Per UnitSTAMFORD, CT (August 14, 2003) -- Star Gas Partners, L.P. (the "Partnership") (NYSE: SGU, SGH), a diversified home energy distributor and services provider specializing in heating oil, propane, natural gas and electricity, announced today the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 1.7 million common units at a public offering price of $21.35 per common unit. The Partnership also granted to the underwriters of this offering a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 255,000 common units to cover any over-allotments. The offering is underwritten by UBS Securities LLC, A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., and RBC Capital Markets and is scheduled to close on August 18, 2003.

Net proceeds from the equity offering will be used to repay a portion of the Partnership's outstanding indebtedness related to Star's recently announced acquisitions of heating oil and propane distributorships.
